Montague the Beautiful History

Montagues' history begins with the formation of Prince Edward Island. The area around Cardigan Bay is one of the youngest on the Island, and is composed of Permian deposits, formed 280 million yeas ago. Many years later, humans moved into the area; first the Paleo-Indians, then the shellfish people, and finally Micmac tribe, who were to exist on "Abegweit" for many years before the arrival of the European.

Why are we doing this ?

GOALS & DESIRES

• We want to close the barriers of surrounding communities.
• We want the Seniors in our communities to become active mentors in the children's education and life experiences.
• We want Montague to have a sense of Community.
• We want parents to be more engaged in their children's school, not to be on the outside looking in.
• We want the children of our communities regardless of backgrounds become united with pride and a sense of belonging.
• We want to move forward building a wall of faith and joining each and everyone in Montague and surrounding communities to feel the love for a better tomorrow.

Kings County-Montague Awarded

Montague Consolidated School in Kings County PEI has been awarded an LTBK Helping Hands award to assist in the building of a new playground and the redevelopment of the schools play yard...stay tuned for more exciting details coming soon!
